Midaston exports exotic goods from deep in the jungle. This has become a very wealthy city despite being founded only three-hundred years ago by the Vrothmire Expedition on the Gale River. Midaston has expanded itself through means approved by the elves native to Runt, being careful not to disrupt the surrounding land. This has allowed the city to maintain good relations with the various tribes of elves within the jungle.

Elven conflicts with the city would be devastating, as most believe the city is greatly outnumbered. Many half-elves live in this city, and it has a presence of high-elves. Many of the elves who live here assist in gentle expansions and logistics of the city. There is a diplomatic square near the center of the city where negotiations are done. Drow are often seen here to secure trade with the surface, making Midaston the only widely-known settlement to openly barter with creatures from the Underdark.
